From SEA to CEO

Welcome to Kaptein Coffee
I’m Scott, the guy behind Kaptein Coffee. I didn’t plan on starting a coffee company.
I just kept following the work, the grit, and the road less traveled—and coffee was always there to fuel it.
I was 12 when I landed my first real job—mowing my neighbor’s lawn. He happened to be a commercial fisherman, and before long, I wasn’t just cutting grass. I was hanging around the net shed, patching gear, soaking up stories from the guys who lived it.
One day, he asked if I wanted to fish the summer season in Alaska. I said yes before he even finished the question. Somehow I convinced my parents to let me go on that little adventure. It wasn’t. It was exciting, hard, and tough—but it got in my blood and turned into a 20- year career.
After high school, I went straight into king crab fishing. By 21, I’d worked my way up to captain, leading crews through some of the roughest waters on the planet.
Fishing taught me everything—about leadership, about grit, about standing tall when things get hard. When I stepped off the boats at 32, I didn’t leave that mindset behind. I carried it ashore. Since then, I’ve built companies across different industries—always with the same approach: roll up your sleeves, figure it out, and keep moving forward.
And through every chapter—early mornings, late nights, wins, losses—there was coffee. Always coffee. One night, working late on a project, I looked down at my cup and realized:
I wasn’t drinking someone else’s story anymore. It was time to drink my own.
That’s how Kaptein Coffee was born. Not out of a marketing plan, but out of a lifetime fueled by work, resilience, and good, strong coffee. Kaptein isn’t just about beans—it’s about the spirit behind it. For the doers, the builders, The ones who show up early, stay late, and push through when others quit.
No shortcuts, no gimmicks, Just honest coffee for people who still believe in earning it.
