Fishing is an integral part of Kaptein's identity. As two sea captains, Scott and Jake are deeply involved in the Seattle based commercial fishing community. The captains have witnessed firsthand the trials and tribulations that both fisherman and their families experience when they are separated from home. Often families are left without answers or closure on what happened to their loved ones while out at sea. The Seattle Fishermen's memorial provides closure and remembrance for those that have been lost in our community.

Seattle Fishermen's Memorial

The Seattle Fishermen’s Memorial is a charitable organization devoted to promoting safety in fishing fleets and easing the emotional and financial burden of surviving family members of fishermen lost at sea. The organization provides grief counseling to bereaved families and maintains a scholarship fund that is awarded to eligible family members and dependents.

In addition to supporting surviving families, The Seattle Fishermen's Memorial believes that an increased amount of lives can be saved if there are better safety and education courses for fishermen. The organization strives to promote safer fishing practices and expeditions.
